As we come to the end of 2024, our CEO Jeremiah Jordan has a few things to say about how the RHJ Group has developed; before we enter 2025-

5 years of RHJ Portugal

  • “Where has the time gone… Something that warms my heart is to know the company is still going strong! Many people might not know the story of how RHJ started; when I first came to Portugal in 2017 I fell in love with the country and had a dream about opening an office in Porto. One evening I visited a great fish restaurant (Marisqueria do Porto – check it out if you’re local!) and whilst in the restaurant I spoke to one of the waiters, mentioning about my dream to have an office, in Porto. I gave him my business card and didn’t think anything of it the next day, low & behold two days later the waiter sent me an email mentioning someone who could help to open the office. The following day or so I met up with Francisco, had a chat with him about the idea, he knew of an accountant, Frederico, who I saw a few days later (I had plenty of food in the space of a couple weeks!). Fred decided to join forces with me, and we setup RHJ Portugal. That is how RHJ Portugal started in 2019; just from a quick trip to a restaurant and I regret nothing.

Office opened in Cyprus

  • My thoughts of opening an office in Cyprus came about during the Christmas holidays last year, I woke up at 4:45am (I remember the time exactly, you could say I love numbers!) and thought about it being a great country for people to explore; with the benefit of great tax rates. I spoke to the team, they made the connections, and I found the right partner, following an official trip there. It has really taken off since, we have a lot more enquiries; about opening a company, relocating, reducing tax rates, investment and because of this interest we have opened several companies. I really think that Cyprus will not just be big for RHJ, but for those who consider moving their business to Cyprus in the coming years.

My 40th year

  • I would love to create the illusion that turning 40 ISN’T happening, but not sure that’s possible. Any ideas? At some point next year I’ll reach the big 4 – 0 even though I can still recall being 19/20 and leaving school. All I know is I get out of bed a lot slower than before, however I’m taking it in my stride since living in Portugal is such a pleasure, and also having an additional family at the office. We’re all about sticking together, and I love seeing everyone else grow around me. But I will say that perhaps I could pass for being in my late 20s…but more than likely early 30s! I started a career in accountancy to have the mental & physical freedom to grow something, and I have done exactly that. I have the opportunity to impact people’s lives by providing them with a great lifestyle, plus without them RHJ wouldn’t be a solid base.

Looking at 2025

  • Moving into 2025 I’d like to open offices in different countries that can provide great personal & corporate tax rates, but also offer a great lifestyle opportunity for those who wish to relocate. I’m thinking about potential incorporations into Ireland, Singapore or Bulgaria; I’ll potentially make a quick trip to the better candidate – so if you know of any connections who might be interested in a partnership then let me know! Keeping the global, immigration and tax saving label that we’ve created is very important to me. And of course hiring more employees is on the cards; cannot believe we grew by 30% this year already.

I wish all my connections, and wider audience, a great Christmas and prosperous New Year.”
